According To Specialists, Natural Air-Drying The Hair Is More Harmful Than Applying Heat

According To Specialists, Natural Air-Drying The Hair Is More Harmful Than Applying Heat

Water Absorbed By Hair Swells The Strands, But Slow Drying Can Crack The Outer Membrane

According to specialists, it is not a good idea to air-dry the hair. It is well-known that excessive heat can damage the hair, such as when using hair dryers, curling irons, and straighteners. However, drying it naturally can be even more damaging. The reason is that when water is applied to the hair, it is absorbed through the external hard layers of the cuticle, swelling the center of the cortex. Repeated cycles of swelling and slow drying, such as when the hair is dried with naturally by air, will cause the outer membrane to crack, causing permanent damage to the locks. Therefore it is better to dry the hair quickly than slowly. An alternative is to dry the hair by rubbing it with a towel, but it can break the strands weakened by water, breaking them. The suggestion would be to squeeze the hair in a towel to absorb excess water, detangle it, and use a hairdryer in sections, moving it constantly. More details click here.
